Starting a fundraiser
Who can start a fundraiser?
High school and college club teams, booster clubs, bands and choirs, academic teams, youth and travel teams, PTAs and PTOs, and cheer and dance squads. You need permission to raise money for the group, and the money has to go to the group’s own bank account.
How do we get paid?
Through Stripe, straight to your team’s or booster club’s bank account. Never a personal account. You set this up once with the account details and an ID.
What does it cost?
Nothing to start and no monthly fee. FundMyClub takes a 10% platform fee and 5% for payment processing from each gift. The rest goes to your organization.
Do we have to order or hand out merch?
No. Merch is printed when someone gives at a merch level and shipped straight to them. Each level shows how much your team keeps.
Can we use our logo?
Yes, if you’re allowed to. Before you upload, you confirm you have permission to use it. If the logo belongs to your school, check with the school first.
Can team members under 18 take part?
Yes, with a parent or guardian’s OK. Pages only show first names and last initials. No one under 13 may use FundMyClub.
How do I get a player or a photo taken down?
Email support@fundmyclub.com and we take it down.
What if our school needs to approve it?
Send your principal or athletic director the preview link before you publish. Nothing is public until you do.
Can someone help us set it up?
Yes. Email support@fundmyclub.com and we’ll walk through it with you.
Giving
Do I need an account to give?
No. You only need a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and an email for your receipt.
Where does my gift go?
To the organization’s own bank account through Stripe.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. It’s emailed to you right after you give.
Is my gift tax deductible?
It depends on the organization. Only gifts to schools and 501(c)(3) nonprofits may be. Each fundraiser page and receipt says what applies, or tells you to ask the organization. If you get merch, only the amount above its value may be deductible.
When will my team merch arrive?
Printed for you. Usually arrives in 10 to 15 business days. US addresses only.
How do I cancel a monthly gift?
Use the link in your receipt, any time. Canceling stops future charges right away.
Does my monthly gift stop when the fundraiser ends?
Only if the end date was shown when you gave. Otherwise it keeps going after the deadline until you cancel. If the team ends the fundraiser early, it stops.
Can I get a refund?
Gifts are final once made. If something went wrong, like a duplicate charge or the wrong amount, email support@fundmyclub.com within 30 days and we'll make it right. Monthly gifts can be canceled any time, and canceling stops future charges.
Is it safe?
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
